nstallation of Bathroom Suites...General Help and Advice . . .
If you’re thinking of installing your new bathroom yourself, make sure you’ve
done your homework.
It can be easier to find and buy your suite than it can be to get it installed.
Most people have experienced the frustration of not being able to find someone
to help them with their bathroom update – and that’s why many are deciding
to do the job themselves. Be warned, however, that unless you do your research
and plan your installation properly, your new bathroom could be out of use
for some time.
Replacing a new suite like with like - the easy way . . .
The easiest way to approach the installation of a new bathroom is to replace
like with like. This means putting your new suite exactly where your old
suite was. You can utilise the same plumbing arrangements and all you need
to do is connect everything up properly. This is probably the most straight
forward bathroom installation you can do, and saves both the hassle and
the expense of putting in new pipework in order to re-arrange your bathroom
suite.
Planning - The best way forward . . .
Make sure that, when it comes to bathrooms, you have chosen correctly to
fit into the space you have. Obviously, it’s best to do this before you
buy. Make sure you know what fittings you will need in order to connect
your bathroom to your piping and ask your supplier about anything else
that may need to be taken into consideration before you begin. You may
choose to use a professional to move piping – and you must use a qualified
electrician for anything that requires new electrics or a change in the
old system – but once everything is in place, you should be able to do
everything else by yourself.
The most important thing to remember is to find out everything before you start, and plan ahead. Racing into installing a new suite without thinking about it first could end in disaster.
